A deadly clash between two rival cult groups has resulted in the death of a young man in Rivers State.

The victim, a 28-year-old simply identified as Samuel, was beheaded after members of the cult groups engaged in a deadly clash.

The incident happened on Saturday at Isiodu community in Emohua local government area of the state.

The ugly incident has thrown the community into crisis.

A source told Bounce News that the killing at Isiodu was a spillover from similar clashes in the neighbouring Ngbuintanwo community.

The source said some of the cultists who ran to Isiodu from Ngbuintanwo community began causing chaos and disorder leading to the recent killing.

According to the source, the victim was on his way back from a relaxation spot when he was attacked by rival gang members who beheaded him.

He said that the attack happened in the open, in the presence of everyone but that no one could help as the attackers were armed with guns and cutlasses.

Bounce News gathered that series of cult clashes have rocked some communities in Emohua local government in recent months resulting in multitude of killings and beheading.

“These cultists are always at war with each other, shooting guns at night all the time”, the source added.
