The music world in Nigeria has been thrown into a state of mourning since the news of Ras Kimono’s death broke.

The reggae legend passed on in Lagos on Sunday, June 10, at the age of 60 after what was described as a very brief illness.

One of the people worst hit by the news is his former band mate and reggae icon, Majek Fashek.

Mourning Kimono, Majek wrote about the plans they had but which death would not allow them to execute.

He wrote, "Ras Kimono why? Too soon Kimono my brethren. RIP! I'm short of words, our last meetings was for you to meet with my manager Uzo in America and death took you away. Forever in my heart I'm gonna miss you....Jah why."
