There was an attack on Saturday in Borno State. The Islamic State is claiming responsibility for the attack, saying it killed 30 Nigerian soldiers.

But the Nigerian Army is disputing this, admitted that an attack did occur in Borno village of Logomani on Saturday night, but no soldier was killed. In fact, the Army said only 8 soldiers sustained minor injuries before the attackers were chased away.

“Only eight of our troops were wounded, out of which four have since been evacuated ... while the other four are receiving treatment,” said the army spokesman.

But in a statement issued through ISIS news agency Amaq, IS on Sunday claimed responsibility for the attack on a village it referred to as Lomani, insisting that it killed no fewer than 30 Nigerian soldiers.
