#Russia2018: World Cup Debut Thrills Super Eagles Defender
Football greats like Ryan Giggs, George Weah, Eric Cantona and even our own Segun Odegbami never had the chance to play at the World Cup, despite the massive impact they made in the round leather game in their generation.
It Is thus understandable the excitement that enveloped 22-year old Tyrone Ebuehi after he featured in his first World Cup game for the Nigeria against Iceland.
After making the impressive debut, Ebuehi says he and his Super Eagles teammates are ready to conquer Argentina in their last group game at the 2018 World.
Ebuehi came in as a second half substitute for Bryan Idowu in Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on Friday and even though he conceded a penalty, he had an otherwise impressive game.
”I’m so happy to have made my World Cup debut. We have put the last result past us and we are working hard for the next game. It’s the game of our lives,” reads a tweet on the Super Eagles official Twitter handle.
It was also his first competitive appearance for the Super Eagles with his previous seven outings coming in friendly games.
A win against La Albiceleste will send the Super Eagles into the second round while a draw could be enough depending on the outcome of the game between Croatia and Iceland.
