Former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju has admonished the Nigeria national team to work harder to see that they beat Argentina at the World Cup in Russia.

In four previous meetings at the World Cup, the two-time World champions have always beaten Nigeria but after last year’s friendly in Russia there is so much optimism that the tables can be turned this term.

While the Headmaster as Adepoju is fondly referred to is optimistic, he told Bounce Sports no two games were the same, so the Super Eagles should forget they beat the Argentines 4-2 last time out when they meet at the World Cup.

He said: “You see, all games are different. What you do in friendly games might not be the same as what you do at the World Cup.

“They only thing I would advise is that we should forget that we have ever beaten them, we should start all over again because Argentina too are not going to come with the aim of losing a game in the World Cup.

“So, I believe our players are just going to forget about that and play a new game and try to beat them again” Adepoju who represented Nigeria at three editions of the World Cup advised.

Aside Argentina, Nigeria will be facing Croatia and Iceland in their other group games.
