Luis Suarez now has two goals to his name as he was on target on Monday; helping Uruguay to a healthy 3-0 thumping of World Cup hosts, Russia.

Suarez’s strike partner, Edison Cavani also found the back of the net as the South Americans finished top in Group A with the maximum nine points.

Hosts, Russia had the advantage going into the final group game having scored more goals than the South Americans, but that edge was surrendered as they succumbed to the superior firepower of the Uruguayans.

Suarez and his teammates won their three group games; scoring five and conceding none.

The only team yet to also concede at the World Cup is Croatia, but they have only played two games so far.

Uruguay who are the top team in Group A will face the runners up in Group B while Russia have a date with whichever team takes the second spot in the group.

The trio of Portugal, Spain and Iran are all potential opponents depending on how their final group games end on Monday night.
