A final breakdown of how teams fared at the just concluded 2018 World Cup in Russia has been released by FIFA.

The rankings released by the world football governing body reveals that the Super Eagles are in the 20th position just after former champions Germany (19th), among the 32 participating teams at the Mundial.

Senegal, expectedly, are the highest ranked African team and the highest ranked team among those that failed to go beyond the group stage. They are in the 17th spot

The Teranga Lions were bitterly knocked out with the controversial Fair Play rule in the First Round.

Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt; Africa's other representative at the Mundial were ranked 27, 30th and 31st respectively.

Panama sit at the bottom of the rankings of the 32 teams that were in Russia.

Three matches, three losses. As expected, but it was fun at least.

Panama celebrated goals like it just won the final. Felipe Baloy netted Panama’s maiden World Cup goal.

Now only five nations have participated but failed to score in the competition, including two from CONCACAF in Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
