While the holy books say making heaven for the rich man will be as hard as the camel passing through the eye of a needle, it would be even much more difficult for any member of the present CHAN Eagles team to make it to Russia 2018.

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has played down on the chances of some of the homebased Super Eagles players currently in Morocco making team A.

He says that their level is far from their counterparts playing abroad.

The coach revealed that the homebased were not in the same tactical and physical level with their foreign-based colleague and it would be difficult for them to meet up with the standard expected.

“I saw a good team in Morocco, but it is difficult to say individually anyone can be taken to the main Super Eagles,” Rohr said.

“The level of those in the main team now playing abroad in terms of technicality and physicality is very high and cannot be compare with the home-based players, it is going to be difficult for them to get into the main team.

“My assistants are the coaches of the team and we are working together; we have been communicating about their progress, discuss about the tactics, patterns and what is important is they are doing well, the spirit is very good just like it is in the main Super Eagles.

It is yet to be seen if Rohr will stand his ground or will grant a waiver in the event the home-based lads go all the way to win the 2018 CHAN tournament.
