The roster of teams to compete in the Russia 2018 World Cup is now complete as Peru became the last side to clinch their place at next year’s World Cup finals.

Goals from Jefferson Farfan and Christian Ramos gave the South Americans a 2-0 win over New Zealand in the second leg of their intercontinental play-off.

The teams played out a 0-0 draw in the first leg but Peru proved too much to handle in the second leg.

They were already in front inside 27 minutes when Farfan hammered home a fierce rising shot to complete a sweeping counter-attack.

Despite, New Zealand’s spirited attempt for an equalizer, it was Ramos who doubled Peru’s lead after 64 minutes when he seized on a loose ball from a corner kick and lashed it into the roof of the net from close range.

For Peru, they are over the moon as they are making it back to the World Cup; having last appeared at the World Cup finals in 1982.
