Nigerian fans will be screened to prevent them from taking live chickens into the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday.

The Super Eagles take on Croatia at the Kaliningrad Stadium in their opening Group D match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Kaliningrad’s minister for culture, Andrei Ermak, said Nigerian fans will not be allowed to bring in their live feathered charm into the stadium.

“Fans from Nigeria asked if it’s possible to go to the stadium with a chicken.

“We told them that it is not possible.”

However, proving that he’s not a hardliner on the issue, Ermak also added that he will soon advise Nigerian fans as to the areas of the city that they will be allowed to carry chickens while supporting their side.

The match kicks off 8pm Nigerian time.
