The World Cup is finally here and all eyes will be on the teams representing their countries. 

Ahead of the games, the list of Champions League teams with players at the World Cup has been released.

English club and Premiere league champions, Manchester City would have almost everyone on its first team playing in Russia at the World Cup.

In ascending order, see the list of clubs and the number of players they have in the World Cup below.

6. Manchester United - 11 Players

11 of Manchester United players will be at the World Cup in Russia.

England accounts for four, which includes Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

Others include Nemanja Matic who will play for Serbia, Paul Pogba for France, and Spain's number one goalkeeper David De Gea.

5. Chelsea - 12 Players

Chelsea’s fifth finish did not stop national team coaches from picking players from this London team.

Spain national team coach put his faith in Cezar Azpilicueta, while ignoring other Spanish players at Chelsea.

The England boss called Gary Cahil because of his defensive capabilities. He selected him, while Blues best player Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Courtois were obvious choices for the Belgium boss.

Others include Kante and Giroud for France, Victor Moses for Nigeria, and Antonio Rudiger for Germany among others.

4.PSG - 12 Players

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are properly represented at the World Cup with world's most expensive player, Neymar leading the pack after returning from injury to play for Brazil.

Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani will play for France and Uruguay respectively. Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler will represent Argentina and Germany respectively among others.


3. Barcelona - 14 Players

The confidence level of players coming from Barcelona is very high, after they pulled a La Liga and Copa Del Rey double in the 2017/18 season.

The Spanish giants also lost only one match all season in the League, this has led national team coaches to select as much as 14 players from the club.

Five time World Player of the Year Lionel Messi is the first on the list as he seeks to win the World Cup with Argentina.

Uruguay will hope Luis Suarez is not the center of controversy in Russia, while Spain takes the lion share with Andres Iniesta, Gerrard Pique Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.

France Coach Didier Deschamps called Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele, while Croatia have Ivan Rakitic among others.

2. Real Madrid - 15 Players

After winning the UEFA Champions League 3 times in a row, its not a surprise that 15 of Real Madrid's players will wear their country colours this summer.

Portuguese captain and five time World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo enters the World Cup with his country who are champions of Europe.

Brazil will have Marcelo and Casemiro in their lineup. Germany and Croatia will hope Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will shine, and  Spain gets the lion share starting with Captain Sergio Ramos, Isco, Nacho, Dani Carvajal and Marco Asensio among others.

1. Manchester City - 16 Players

Premier League champions Manchester City have the highest number of players at the World Cup.

It is difficult to see any first team player who will not be in Russia starting with goalkeeper Ederson, Fernadinho, Jesus and Danilo (Brazil), Kompany and Debruyne (Belgium), Silva (Spain), Raheem Sterling, John Stones and Kyle Walker (England) among others.
