The Super Eagles of Nigeria touched so many hearts on Friday with the 2-0 victory against Iceland and former President Goodluck Jonathan was one of them. 

The game that most Nigerians were keen on seeing the Super Eagles win happened as desired and the Eagles cancelled a two-goal deficit. 

Ahmed Musa, the man of the match, is getting accolades for melting Iceland with his brace. 

After the game, Dr Jonathan commending the Super Eagles said the feat was a prove that Nigerian youths work hard and were not lazy. 

"The youths of Nigeria, as represented by Ahmed Musa, have proved once again that they are hardworking, goal oriented and ingenious achievers.

"Congratulations Super Eagles," he wrote on his Facebook page.

One thing that the victory awakened is the spirit of Nigeria that is in all Nigerians and the former President also mentioned it.

"You epitomise the can do spirit of Nigeria.

"I also salute the coach and technical crew of our national team.

"We expected the best and you did not disappoint," Dr Jonathan stated.

Nigeria will face Argentina, a team that has been described as a wounded lion, in the last game of the group stage and the former President also made a request from the Super Eagles ahead of the must-win tie. 

Ahmed Musa had said scoring against the Argentine team was no big deal for him

"We are all looking forward to bigger and better things from you," Dr. Jonathan added.
