Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is not happy with the result against Argentina on Tuesday, but thumbed up his players for “playing well”.

Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat to Argentina to finish 3rd on Group D and consequently crash out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles gave their best from the start of the second half and was awarded a penalty that was converted by Victor Moses to draw level for Nigeria.

But a heart-breaking goal in the final 10 minutes condemned Nigeria to an early exit

“It was a big disappointment because my team gave their best especially in the second half,” Rohr said.

“We were just a few minutes away from qualification.

“But I’m proud of my players.

“We lacked experience, we’re a young team and in four years they will be ready.”

Rohr wish to stay on as coach of the Super Eagles as qualification resumes for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
