FIFA is yet to give Chelsea defender Ola Aina a final nod to play for Nigeria on international level, and this is not funny to coach Gernot Rohr.

The Super Eagles handler has two tough tasks ahead, and would have been more relaxed to see the 20-year-old, who has impressed in training, lined up against Cameroon.

“We have to wait on FIFA to give him final clearance. I spoke to some of our officials and they have told me there’s just one letter left before he’s cleared. I don’t understand it.

“He has a Nigerian passport and his parents are Nigerians so how else do you want him to prove he’s Nigerian?” Rohr said during a media chat in Uyo.

Rohr, however, has a plan B, just in case Aina is not cleared before match day.

“Anyways, I hope he will be cleared in time but, as a precaution, we have Uche Agbo on standby in case the clearance does not come in time before the match.”

Nigeria will host Cameroon at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on Friday before traveling to Yaounde for the return leg.
