Super Eagles stars now playing in China have been dropped from the list of players for this month’s international friendly matches against Senegal and Burkina Faso.

Topping the list of high profile absentees is Captain John Obi Mikel, who Bounce News had earlier reported could miss both games.

The duo of Brown Ideye and Odion Ighalo are also missing from the list made public on Wednesday. Opinions remain divided on the decision of Nigerian football stars to leave European based clubs for the money-driven Chinese Super League.

Meanwhile, it is not clear if this omission is the first of many to come as Nigeria is desperate to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and AFCON 2019.

To get in shape for the crucial qualifying games ahead, the Super Eagles will be up against Senegal’s Teranga Lions on Thursday, March 23  before taking on the Etalons of Burkina Faso four days later.

Both matches will be played at The Hive, home ground of Barnet Football Club.
