Suspected armed robbers have invaded a central mosque in Lagos.

The bandits were said to have stormed the mosque premises located at 156 Ijesha road in Itire, Lagos at night in search of money and other valuables.

They reportedly carted away valuables from the building.

However, one of the suspects, Gbenga Odunmade has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for the alleged invasion and was remanded in prison custody.

He was charged before the Isolo Magistrates court for felony and stealing under the Criminal Code.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, A.O Adedayo granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition, and the matter was adjourned till 27th of October, 2017.
