Armed hoodlums numbering about  seven raided the female hostel of the Osun State University, Ikire campus.

The robbers harassed the students and carted away their possessions.

This incident occurred around 11.30pm on Saturday night when the students were in their rooms.

According to one of the victims who spoke to Bounce News, he was in his room watching a movie when his room mates heard knocks on their door telling them to open at gunpoint.

“They told everyone to calm down and co-operate with them. Thereafter commanding them to lie down after which phones, laptops and other valuable items were collected from them and carted away in one of the victims bags.

According to the source, "the robber also got hold of one of the students who went out to buy something to eat; they grabbed her at gunpoint straight to her apartment and raided the room, carting away her handset phones, her feeding money, laptop and other items".

Another student, a final year student of French and International Studies, simply identified as Henrietta had her three phones, laptop, jewelries and ATM cards taken away.

She added that their hostel guards were attacked with cutlasses and one of them was severely injured and hospitalised.

Efforts made to reach the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution to react to the incident failed.
