A parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG was burgled by armed robbers.

The incident happened at the church parish located at Aniya junction in Egan area in the outskirts of Lagos.

The suspects - Aliu Raji, Ganiyu Habeeb and others reportedly scaled the fence at night, broke into the church hall and carted away some items including a power generating set, DVD recorder, amplifier and cables.

The suspects had already sold the items and shared the proceeds.

They confessed to the crime publicly in the area claiming that they were responsible for the missing items.

The information got to the Redeemed Christian Church members and the matter was reported to the police at Igando Division and the two suspects were arrested and detained at the police station.

It was gathered that the suspects confessed in their statements and mentioned their accomplices during the operation.

They were brought before Ejigbo Magistrates court and charged for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

They pleaded not guilty. The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.O.E Adeyemi-Ajayi granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending perfection of their bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 12 March, 2018.
