Rivers United and Enugu Rangers were the frontrunners in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season.

It is however a different ball game for both teams this season as they face threats of relegation.

The already bad situation is looking worse for Rivers United as they will be prosecuting their NPFL Match Day 32 away game in Enugu against Rangers with a seemingly depleted squad.

Rivers United Coach Stanley Eguma's job may be on the line and he can taste the pressure.

“This is the business end of the league in which every game and every point garnered counts so much”, reasoned Eguma.

“Therefore, every team want to go into all the games in their best form with their best players.

“But unfortunately for us, the team is seriously depleted.

“You cannot imagine that we’ll be facing a strong team like Rangers at this stage of the season without six of our first team players.” He stated.

Team captain, Festus Austine, a center-back, is out with a hamstring injury.

Similarly, his defensive partner, Ayobanmi Asekunowo, is also suffering from a hamstring injury.

Other players that could also miss the match due to injury include Ayo Saka, Bolaji Sarkin, Guy Kuemia and goalkeeper, Abiodun Akande.
