In June 2018, we brought you the story of Timilehin Adeoye, a 12-year-old JSS 1 boy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

He fought for his life at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan with family and friends rallying to raise the funds needed for his surgery.

They even had to initiate a fundraising because the bills were unbearable for the family.

The sad news is that Timilehin did not make it. The young boy passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, this is after undergoing the first surgery that would have enabled him travel to India for the second phase surgery.

It must be said that Timilehin’s case got worse due to the strike embarked upon by health workers in government hospitals, which UCH Ibadan is one.

Administrative staff of the hospital who are responsible for all documentation are part of the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and their absence meant a great deal of delay in attending to Timilehin.

Oyindamola Olabosinde, Timilehin’s mother is still grieving the loss of her beloved son but has managed to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her in the battle to save Timilehin.

A family friend who spoke with Bounce News also acknowledged the love they have received from far and wide, believing that Timilehin’s spirit would be grateful for all the efforts made to save him.

May the soul of Timilehin rest in peace.
