The Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State; wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo were among the dignitaries present on Tuesday as the late Deji Tinubu made his final journey to the great beyond.

It was an emotional atmosphere laced with weeping and wailing on Tuesday as the remains of Deji Tinubu, erstwhile Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Commerce and Industry were buried at the Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi.

Tinubu slumped and died last Thursday while playing five-a-side football during the Retreat for State Executive Councils, permanent secretaries and other top government functionaries in Epe.

At the funeral service, which was held for him at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG City of David, Victoria Island, glowing tributes were paid to Tinubu who distinguished himself as a sports broadcaster and also as an administrator.

Speaking, Amosun eulogized the qualities of Tinubu and regretted that he died on his birthday.

Also speaking, Mrs Osinbajo prayed for the family to have the strength to bear the great loss.

Some other dignitaries present to pay their last respect to Deji Tinubu include Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Dele Momodu, former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi as well as a long list of friends and well wishers.
