The last has not been heard of the demolishing of Yinka Ayefele's Fresh FM building, Ibadan by the Oyo state government.

The popular Tungba gospel musician addressed men of the press at the Fresh FM building where he revealed that Gov Abiola Ajimobi had gifted his wife 1,000 dollars (about N357,000) on Saturday, August 18th, which was barely 24 hours before the demolition took place.

Holding back tears as he addressed the press, Ayefele revealed that his wife had been on her knees that Saturday night for 5 hours, begging the governor not to carry out the demolition.

In the end, he promised not to demolish the building and even gave her and those who went with her to beg 1,000 dollars which led them to believe that all was well.

However, Gov Ajimobi still went ahead to give the orders to demolish the building a few hours later as Nigerians woke up on the morning of Sunday, August 20th to the news that the Fresh FM had been leveled by government bulldozers.

''I don't owe staff. I am not getting any money from the radio station, I perform on stage to pay my staff's bill'' Ayefele said in a emotion-laden voice as he addressed the press.

He added that he had a well-approved plan for the building which had 2 radio studios in it, and had been drawn over 10 years ago, contrary to what the government said.

The Oyo State Government early on Sunday morning stormed Yinka Ayefele's Music House at the Challenge area of Ibadan with government bulldozers and pulled it down, despite pending court action to stop the demolition.
