"I am saying today, which is the 3rd of January that Ekweremadu will leave PDP and join the APC. It is not even up for argument".

That's according to a PDP chieftain, Henry Shield. He said this in an exclusive chat with Bounce News on Thursday.

There were speculations that sprung up in 2018 that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu would leave the PDP for the APC because he was reportedly sidelined as being the preferred candidate to serve as the running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Peter Obi was chosen instead.

Although, the Deputy Senate President dismissed this claim, fresh information reveals that this plan is taking its final turn.

Henry Shield disclosed to Bounce News  that the South East leader’s soul and spirit have left the party completely, stressing that he (Ekweremadu) has been “consumed” by his “selfish” desire to be the Vice President.

Mr. Shield said: “Ekweremadu will decamp to the APC after next month’s elections. Apparently, his desire to be vice president has consumed him. Ekweremadu should be extremely grateful to the PDP for what the party has done for him. It is ingratitude for him to think because he didn’t get what he wanted this time around that he can now decide to play games.

“Let him go to the APC and see what he can get out of that place. Akpabio is also there. I am saying it boldly, the handwritings are on the wall, everyone can see it and read it. Ekweremadu is leaving PDP. He should stop with the cover up. We saw worse than this with Akpabio.

“I was close to him (Akpabio), you will recall I complained about him last year so I am telling you now that Ekweremadu is going to APC. He can come out tomorrow and he can even issue a press statement denying it or do a world press conference denying it. But I am saying today, which is the 3rd of January that Ekweremadu will leave PDP and join the APC. It is not even up for argument.”

According to the Chieftain, the signs of defection became more evident after the party’s convention last year, while he urged the PDP to desist from “revolving around individuals.”

“The signs have been there but it was until after the convention. This morning I still tried to call him, he didn’t pick his calls. Ekweremadu’s spirit and soul has left PDP for APC. We should just allow him to go. You cannot always have your way in a political setting.

“Where is the big heartedness? Where is the spirit that says our common enemy is Buhari and our common goal is to gain that power? If it is about you (Ekweremadu)! For goodness sake, the party personally gave you a slot in the NWC. What else does he want the party to do? PDP should not be revolving around individuals", Mr. Shield said.
