Returnee Ekiti governor, Kayode Fayemi is not wasting time in showing the people that they made a mistake by voting him out of government in 2014.

Asides announcing key appointees within 24 hours of being in office, the new governor has abolished the education development levy introduced by the government of Ayodele Fayose in all primary and secondary schools.

From now, education will be totally free in all public primary and secondary schools.

He wondered why school children should be made to pay tax when their parents are already paying taxes.

He vowed that his government would not add to the burden of the already traumatised parents.

Many parents have had to deal with harsh economic conditions due to unpaid salaries, which he said was inflicted by the last administration.

Before now, children at primary and secondary cadres were mandated to pay N500 and N1,000 per term respectively.
