Respite seems to be coming the way of the suspended Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mounir Gwarzo.

Members of the House of Representatives are looking into his suspension by the Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun over alleged financial abuses.

The lawmakers want both parties to “maintain the status quo” pending the outcome of the probe.

Also suspended are two management staff of the Commissiom, Abdulsalam Naif Habu, Head of Media Division and Anastasia Omozele Braimoh, Head of Legal Department, who have been alleged to engage in financial impropriety.

Meanwhile the panel set up to probe the suspended DG is set to invite nine firms alleged to have been used by him to siphon funds.
