Relatives Of Robbery Victims Want Police To Arrest Killers
Livinus Nwachukwu, 55, was a passenger in Okwudili Ogwube’s vehicle.
Both were victims of an armed men attack, and were shot. While Nwachukwu bled and died instantly, the 30-year-old driver gave up the ghost on the way to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
Consequently, the people of Ndiagu Echara in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have called on the Commissioner of Police, Titus Lamorde, to arrest the killers of their father.
A son to Livinus Nwachukwu, who spoke in sobs to Bounce News, said the death of their father came few minutes after the vehicle they boarded left the park in the area.
Nwachukwu Friday, who called on the police in Ebonyi State to hunt down the killers of his father, said “I am still shocked that my father whom I saw when he was leaving home that morning is no more.
“The accident, according to people who saw it, said the armed robbers stopped them and started shooting, it was in the process that my father and the driver were shot dead.
“I was told that the armed robbers were shooting into the air, which made people around to run away from the area.
“If there was adequate security, this robbery would not have taken place. It happened on Monday in broad daylight.
“My father left the house that day that he was going to Abakaliki, but I did not know that was the last time I would be seeing him.''
The bandits numbering four attacked the golf car with registration number GGE 225 CW enroute Abakaliki from Ndiagu Echara in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
In the process, they shot to death the duo of Livinus and Okwudili.
Bounce News also gathered that three women in the vehicle also sustained life threatening injuries, and were rushed to FETHA II Hospital, Abakaliki.
When contacted, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Loveth Odah, confirmed the attack.
