The worst fears of travelers leaving Lagos this weekend have been confirmed.

Reinhard Bonnke Farewell Crusade which started on Wednesday has been causing traffic gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and it may just get worse.

The gridlock starts from the Warewa end of the road where motorists intending to do a U-turn back have been forced to take.

The opening in front of Fatgbems Petrol Station has been blocked with FRSC officials forcing drivers to hit the long bridge.

What this means is that whether you are attending the crusade or not, you will have to travel the entire length of the long bridge before you can make a U-turn to head back to Berger.

Residents of Opic Estate, Isheri and others have been lamenting the trouble they have been going through, while travelers have also been horribly affected.

This is because the narrow space at Warewa bustop can only take few cars at a time. The bottleneck has now led to a heavy traffic all through the long bridge.

The crusade ends on Sunday, November 12. It is expected that more people would be trooping into Lagos at the weekend and the traffic can only get worse.

Now, if the journey you’re embarking on is not so important, then the traffic heading out of Lagos along the long bridge may not be worth facing.
