Real Reasons Davido’s Crew Member Beat 3 Airport Staff
No one knew Kayode Umarudeen on Davido’s crew until he solely beat up 3 airport officials.
The incident occurred at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on January 11th, after an argument over verification of luggage went awry.
Kayode threw the first punch and knocked down the checkpoint staff who was verifying the luggage.
While resisting arrest after security officials came to save their colleague, he bashed an airport security staff, and injured an Assistant Customs Comptroller.
On January 12th, Kayode was granted bail after he was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate court and charged for assault, breach of public peace and resisting arrest.
Here are 3 reasons why he stood up for the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ and his bags.
1. As a former American soldier, he is trained to defend citizens from ‘bullies’, and he felt that the airport officials were taking advantage of Davido’s generosity. The musician is known to publicly dash out cash anytime he 'rolls through' the airport.
2. He served in war torn Afghanistan for a full year after volunteering, and is accustomed to facing many ‘adversaries’ at the same time.
3. It is believed, but not verified, that one of Davido’s 17 luggage’s contained a large amount of foreign currency and Kayode was trying to protect that bag, from the ‘hawk-eyed’ airport officials.
