Does President Muhammadu Buhari now have a media adviser he is not aware of?

A man claiming to be the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari has been arrested.

Christian Efe Oyovweyho, appeared at the Federal High Court in Kano State on a two count-charge of obtaining by false pretence.

He was alleged to have attempted to obtain the sum of N300,000 (more than US$950) from a Professor of Economics at Bayero University Kano, Dalhatu Mohammed Galadanci.

The funds were reportedly to facilitate Galadanci’s appointment to the Nigeria Port Authority or Nigerian Railway Cooperation and Rural Electrification.

At that point, the professor got suspicious and reported the matter to the commission.

The defendant is pleading not guilty.

He has been granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000.

The trial has been adjourned to April 11.
