The Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) has called for registration of all political parties at its office.

This is part of the build-up to the conduct of elections into all Local Government Councils in the state.

According to a statement by the Chairman of OSIEC, Otunba Segun Oladitan, the political parties' registration with the commission begins on Wednesday, October 4 and ends on Monday October 9, 2017.

There have been cries for council polls in the state since 2010 when the current administration of Rauf Aregbesola dissolved all local government executive councils which resulted in law suits filed by ousted council chairmen.

The newly announced registration exercise holds at OSIEC secretariat, Old Ikirun Road, Testing Ground Area, Osogbo.

The OSIEC Chairman urged all political parties to cooperate with the commission by taking the registration exercise seriously.

He also promised the commission would be fair to all.
