A pregnant woman and her two children have died of food poisoning in Kaduna.

The victims reportedly died after eating boiled dried kenaff leaves (rama).

The father of the house, a serving police officer, is also in critical condition.

The family was said to have taken the meal, which was prepared by the woman, as dinner on Friday night but started purging the following morning.

They were then rushed to the hospital, but died one after the other.

However, the husband of the woman, Inspector Peter Dauda is still battling for life.

The unfortunate incident took place in Kadarko village, Kaura local government Area of Kaduna State

The administrator of Kaura local government, Zitung Basahuwa Agog, who confirmed the incident, said the government had deployed a team of medical experts to the area to investigate the cause of the incident.
