A policeman has been detained for allegedly beating up a former school headmistress.

Mrs. Ayodeji Orojo, now former headmistress of Top-Teez Nursery and Primary School, Ifo, was allegedly attacked by police for trying to record the arrest of her student.

According to Punch, six policemen stormed a 10-year-old boy’s school where Orojo served as a head teacher, disrupting academic activities in the process.

The incident occurred when a stabiliser belonging to the Ojodu Abiodun Divisional Police Officer had been stolen by some hoodlums and the police found the electrical appliance in the compound where 10-year-old David resides.

Mrs Orojo, who was against the action of the police, was allegedly beaten up and her phone damaged.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu, said the officer who attacked Mrs Orojo has been detained and would be sanctioned at the end of police investigation.
