Their mission was to flush out members of the party loyal to the sacked former National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Sheriff loyalists led by Segun Adewale were until the police invasion on Thursday occupying the secretariat.

The police is believed to be acting on a letter allegedly signed by the Chairman of National Caretaker Committee of the party, Ahmed Makarfi.

Makarfi is reported to have asked the police to ensure enforcement of the recently delivered judgment of the Supreme Court recognising the Committee as legitimate leadership of the PDP.

When contacted, Adewale condemned the invasion. He told Bounce News that he remains the authentic Chairman of the party in the state.

He stated that when he was elected on May 15 2016, there was no issue of Makarfi or Sheriff faction.

Adewale noted that the election that brought his executive to power was monitored and supervised by the leadership of the party at that time.
