These criminals picked up the wrong guy and his fellow officers got very angry.

Adesokan was kidnapped on Friday, July 21 while traveling along the Siun-Ajura-Abeokuta Road on his way from Ogere to Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The abductors, who were said to be of Fulani extraction, reportedly demanded N100 million before they could release their victim.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the rescue operation, also displayed bodies of the suspected kidnappers at the Owode-Egba Divisional Police Station in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

He said: “We received a distress call that somebody was kidnapped on Siun-Ajura-Abeokuta Road and in our findings, we discovered that the person kidnapped happened to be a policeman.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, believed it was an effrontery of the highest order that the perpetrators of this heinous act must be brought to book within the shortest possible period of time.

“Because of the directive, DPO Owode-Egba, CSP Sheu Alao, led his men together with other police and special units and went after these kidnappers. Their efforts yielded results this evening (yesterday) and five of the kidnappers were apprehended.

“On siting the policemen, the kidnappers exchanged fire with the policemen, but, in the exchange of fire, four of the kidnappers were shot dead.”
