Deji Adeyanju, former New Media Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was arrested by the Nigerian Police for staging a peaceful protest against the secret trial of the self acclaimed leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has been released.

Adeyanju, who doubles as convener of Concerned Nigeria group, was apprehended at the Unity Fountain with another leader of the movement, Brian Jonah Dennis in Abuja.

Shortly after his arrest, the social media went on fire, with many threatening a showdown with the government.

Adeyanju, on Friday afternoon, announced his release from the claws of the Nigeria Police.

"Released. I have told them that the protests will continue.

"We will not STOP and we will not be cowed,” Adeyanju posted on his Facebook page on Friday moments after he was let go by the police.
