Police Recover 19 Cars From Robbers In Osun

The idea of building prisons is to reform criminals and change their perspective of good and bad.
The police in Osun state say they have busted a car snatching syndicate terrorizing car owners.
The Commissioner of Police in Osun state, Fimihan Adeoye paraded them before the media on Tuesday after they were arrested at various points in the state.
A total of 19 cars were recovered from the robbers with investigation still ongoing, as usual.
The police commissioner said the committed efforts of men of the state anti-robbery squad, SARS resulted to the unmasking of the syndicate.
One part that calls for concern, however, is that all members of the four-man gang were ex-convicts.
This is another proof that Nigerian prisons, rather than being corrective facilities, have become recruitment centres for all forms of crime.
Perhaps this was why the Osun CP also promised that his command would work on some crime prevention strategies that will help in enlightening the public on the need to desist from criminal acts.
While the Police continue to put more efforts into crime fighting, shouldn’t the government make it count with better attention to the state of the prisons?
