Police Pursue Death Penalty For Wife Who Killed Ex-PDP Chairman’s Son
Maryam Sanda could pay with her own life for allegedly stabbing her husband to death.
Bilyaminu Bello-Haliru, son of former PDP chairman, Haliru Bello died after being stabbed by his dearly beloved.
In a two-count charged filed against the accused, the Nigerian Police said the attack, carried out on Sunday, November 19, 2017 was premeditated as they seek death penalty against Maryam Sanda.

According to the court filings, police said Ms. Sanda stabbed her husband with broken bottles at about 3:50 a.m. with absolute intent to kill him and she is being charged under Sections 221, 240 and 247 of the Penal Code.
The police said the murder was committed in Zone 2, Wuse, Abuja and not Maitama, Abuja as had been widely reported.
The matter would be heard at Courtroom No. 32 by the Chief Judge of FCT High Court, the police said. But no date has been fixed for commencement of trial.
If found guilty, Sanda could face the death penalty.
