A suspected ritualist identified as Prophet Olusegun Otaru has been nabbed for killing a female sex worker (Mercy Moses) to get N2.5 million naira.

The suspect disclosed this in Lokoja on Monday when he was paraded alongside nine other suspects by the Kogi State Police Command.

The suspects were paraded for their alleged involvement in ritual killings, conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, and illegal possession of fire arms.

Bounce News had earlier gathered that the suspect was arrested by the police last week when he allegedly masterminded the murder of one Mercy a Benue citizen who resides in a popular hotel called Hollywood Inn.

The self acclaimed prophet, who oversees the Voice of Canaan Temple C/S Ozuri under Adavi Local Government, confessed that he has been exhuming many dead bodies from graves for money rituals.

According to him, his church has been in existence for over 40 years and he has about 20 members.

He also confessed that the prevailing economic hardship in the country led him into money rituals.

Kogi suspects

"I was taught how to do blood money in Abeokuta in Ogun State. There is one old man, whenever he is using someone for money ritual, I do look at him." He explained.

"My aim is that when I do this, I will move from poverty to riches. If I finish, I am expected to make nothing less than N2.5million" he added.

"Since things have been difficult for me, I called my boys informing them that, if we could get dead body heads, hands or leg, there is something I could do for us to be rich".

Another  suspect Yakubu Abdulmumini who is an accomplice  to the crime narrated how they slept with  late Mercy Moses after killing her.

"After Stephen have killed the girl, he now told me that, anybody that sleeps with the corps, he will not have anything like accident or evil will not come close to that person. So he now slept with the girl, so I also followed him in doing so. Steven has run away. 

"All of us including the one sitting close to me known as Samuel Olusegun, we are in this act together."
