Police Nab Man For Killing PDP Chairman In Ebonyi
Agha Eze Okpara allegedly wanted to continue leasing out their family land undisturbed, and to make that plan easy, he allegedly took the life of his nephew.
Late Patrick Okpara was the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of Amata ward in Afikpo North Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi State.
He was killed after a mild disagreement ensued between him and his uncle.
A community source that gave his name as Sylvester disclosed that the face-off between the duo started in 2016 when Agha Eze Okpara leased out their family land without the consent of other family members.
The deceased was said to have approached him politely to know why he should make such transaction alone, but rather than showing remorse, he besieged him in his house and threatened to kill him.
The threat was said to have been reported to the villagers who cautioned him.
According to the source, the matter, which appeared to have been settled, took a dangerous dimension.
On that fateful day, Mr. Eze Agha Patrick, one Ete Odeke and others at large, allegedly attacked Mr. Patrick Okpara on the said land and killed him with a machete.
The source added that the alleged mastermind of evil deed, Agha Eze Patrick is cooling off at the Afikpo divisional police headquarters.
