Police ‘Kidnap’ Former Kogi Youth Chairman
The immediate past chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi state chapter, Oladele John-Nihi has been ‘kidnapped’ by men of the Nigeria Police force.
It is been alleged that Comrade Nihi Oladele and his aide, Eunice Ibukun were picked up at Naomi Hotel at Okoro Gbede, Ijumu LGA, Kogi State.
This came shortly after they returned from a “Thank You” tour with Senator Dino Melaye, across Ijumu and Mopa Amuro LGAs.
It was alleged by an eye witness, that there were attempts to plant ammunition in Nihi’s car before the arrest, but they failed.
The eye witness further explained that the Mobile Police men who were shooting sporadically, forcefully smuggled Nihi and Eunice away to an unknown destination.
All these are said to have happened in the presence of the administrator of Ijumu LGA, Hon. Taufiq Isah, who was believed to have given the order.'
One could recall that Hon. Taufiq is a sworn enemy of Senator Dino Melaye and has earlier been accused of making an attempt on the life of the senator, on two different occasions.
According to sources who pleaded anonymity, Taufiq is said to be a violent politician who unleashes security agents on anyone who crosses his path.
Reports also revealed that, Taufiq has ordered the arrests of his in-laws in Ayeh-Gbede for failure to obey his orders to the letter.
Oladele Nihi is an Ijumu son from Aiyegunle Gbede. He is the son of late Chief Nihi, a former Chairman of the defunct Oyi local government (comprising of the current 5LGAs in Okun land).
Oladele Nihi’s arrest has revealed a pattern of suppression in Ijumu land for allegedly supporting Atiku Abubakar and Dino Melaye.
It will be recalled that another Ijumu son, Barr. Tunde Ayeni is currently being humiliated by the EFCC.
The Youth Council of Nigeria however called on the relevant human right bodies, to do the needful and see to the prompt release of Oladele John Nihi and Abraham Ibukun Eunice.
