Pogba Deletes Controversial Post After Mourinho Sacking
It is an open secret that Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho maintain a cat and mouse relationship lately, but no one will imagine that either will openly mock the other over a predicament.
That appears to be the case on Tuesday when Pogba posted a controversial picture just after Mourinho’s sacking was announced by Manchester United.
The French star posted a picture with a mischievous look on his face on Instagram and Twitter with the message "Caption this!" He also tagged the official United account and hashtags.
While tongues were wagging on the plausibility or otherwise of Pogba’s action Man United told the BBC that the post was a scheduled Adidas marketing post and that it was not Pogba reacting to the news regarding Mourinho.
Cryptic post by a disgruntled player or a scheduled marketing post from a sponsor?
We will likely never find out the truth but from afar the timing sure does seem quite convenient.
Pogba hasn't started a Premier League game since a 2-2 draw at Southampton on Dec. 1, left warming the bench after a much-criticised start in the Champions League loss at Valencia.
And that comes on the back of being stripped of the vice-captaincy and a much-publicised training-ground spat.
It caused a bit of consternation in the corridors of power at Old Trafford, as the post lasted around 10 minutes before being deleted from all social media platforms.
But social media doesn't forget, and there will always be plenty of people ready to take that screengrab.
