Following the death of two soldiers, two policemen and 23 civilians in an attack at Dung Kasa, Rafiki and Dutse Kura communities in Bassa Local Government Area, Governor Simon Lalong has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew.

Lalong summoned an emergency security meeting late on Wednesday, where the decision was taken.

In a statement of the meeting, secretary to the State Government, Rufus Bature said the state had declared curfew in Bassa Local Government Area after due consultation with security agencies.

“Consequently, security agencies in area have been mandated to enforce the curfew.

“Law abiding citizens are advised go about their lawful businesses,’’ he said.

He added that the curfew would be within 6pm and 6am daily.
