The push to end the activities of Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria's northeast has continued, with troops killing and capturing a number of terrorists in the last 48 hours. 

Just after the battle for Metele resulted in the death of at least 76 Boko Haram members and seven soldiers, troops in counter-terrorism operation again killed three suspected Boko Haram members in Kaltunbare, Borno State.

It was a special operation, with troops infiltrating the camp of the terrorists in the location.

According to the Nigerian Army, the attack occurred on October 10, with troops collaborating with vigilantes in the location.

"Troops of 22 Brigade Garrison Infiltrate Boko Haram Terrorists' Camp in Kaltunbare Borno State.

"Gallant troops of 22 Brigade Garrison Dikwa supported by vigilantes, on deliberate offensive patrol, infiltrated a BHT camp at Kaltunbare in Borno State on 10 October 2018," a post on the Twitter page of the Nigerian Army read.

The troops killed three suspected terrorists and also rescued two minors. There were also some suspected terrorists that escaped with gunshot wounds, the Army said.

Boko Haram members are renewing vigour in their push to take over territories in Nigeria's northeast, making attempts to sack military formations in communities.

But troops are holding forth, as terrorists attention appeared to have shifted from attack of soft targets to a harder push to reclaim territories.
