One of the persons topping the list of wanted Boko Haram suspects has been arrested.

The suspect, who is number five in the Nigerian Army’s list of wanted persons, was arrested with three other suspected members of the group.

He is the young man in the middle of the suspects who are in the picture above.

There is a complication about the identity of the other three suspected members of Boko Haram. 


The Army said the suspects were arrested and who arrested by troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole.

A statement by a spokesman for the Army, Texas Chukwu, said they had intercepted a vehicle conveying the suspect in its list suspect and the other three who now claim they are members of the civilian vigilante (Civilian Joint Task Force).

Troops intercepted them on Thursday at the Forward Operations Base along Kano - Azare road, in Bauchi State.

On interrogation, the three young men claiming to be members of the Civilian Joint Task Force told the army they had arrested the suspects in Lagos and that they were taking him to Department of State Service (DSS) office in Maiduguri for further investigations.

“Efforts are being made to contact DSS office in Maiduguri for possible confirmation of the Civilian Joint Task Force claims,” he said.

The spokesman also said that troops have intensified search on the major highway to deny and arrest any fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.
