The tussle for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State is holding today, Saturday 29.

It is a tense environment, as Lagos residents wait patiently to hear the result and the choice of the candidate that is likely to govern the state for another 4 years.

It is holding at the party’s Secretariat at Acme Road in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State.

The battle is between Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and  Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Supporters of both contenders throng the venue while party members also came to witness what could be described as a fight between two elephants.

While the tension mounts, one of the contenders, Dr Femi Hamzat, withdrew from the race, declaring his support for Mr Sanwo-Olu.

There are claims that he was offered the Deputy Governor’s position.

However, the camp of the incumbent Governor is also putting up a fight, as the Governor has refused to chicken out of the race as a result of pressure and loss of support from some party leaders that became glaring weeks ago.
