Boko Haram insurgents terrorising communities in northeast Nigeria and bandits in the north west and north central are in trouble, as the Nigerian Army has been energised to increase combatant operations against them.

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday said it received various ammunition that will further enhance its operational capabilities and combat efficiency.

After the ammunition were offloaded from a cargo aircraft that brought them in, the Nigerian Army shared some images of the items it received.

It is not clear if it was the ammunition that troops of Army Headquarters Garrison on official duty were escorting from Abuja to Army Central Ammunition Depot in Kaduna State when they were attacked by some members of the IMN at Zuba bridge, Abuja few days ago.

The Nigerian Army said the consignment of ammunition was large.

This is coming at a time that insurgents in northeast are increasing push to take territories. Their push have been countered by troops.

On several occasions, efforts to bring the activities of terrorists in the northeast to an end, have been hampered by lack of ammunition, and the received consignment is expected to now boost the counter-terrorism operations of troops in the northeast.
