Desperate times calls for desperate actions but that seems not to be the case with struggling Real Madrid has they unveiled their first signing in the January transfer window.
The latest player to join the ranks of Real Madrid is Brahim Diaz who admitted that the reigning European champions are the only club he would have left Manchester City for.
The highly-rated teenager was formally unveiled as a Real player on Monday after passing a medical and completing the formalities of his £22m switch from the Etihad Stadium.
The 19-year-old made only 15 first-team appearances for City, but was regarded as one of their most promising academy graduates.
He scored both goals in their Carabao Cup fourth round win over Fulham back in November.
The Spanish forward was offered a lucrative deal to stay, but he opted to leave for Real with six months remaining on his contract.
And Diaz said he had no hesitation in packing up and returning to his native homeland.
Speaking at his official presentation, he said: “When I was told of Real Madrid’s interest I didn’t think twice about it.
“Today is the most important day of my life, arriving at the team I dreamed of playing for when I was a child.
“This is the best present for me for Christmas.
Diaz, who will wear the No 21 shirt at Real, spoke to media and posed for photographs on the pitch in front of fans.
