(PHOTOS) Police, SSS Fight As Gov. Amosun Travels Along Lagos-Ibadan Highway
Photos have emerged of a fight between officers of the Nigerian police, and their State Security Service (SSS) counterpart.
The fight happened at the Mowe Ibafo area on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday, leaving an SSS official bleeding from the face.
Witnesses say the SSS were among security detail of Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
The police, who are from Lagos State Police Command, were driving against traffic in about ten Hilux vans and security buses when the governor was passing through Mowe/Ibafo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Noticing that they are likely to cause traffic due to their reckless driving, the governor directed his security men to caution them.
In the process, the security men of the governor comprising of the police and SSS drove across the traffic to warn the Lagos police officers against driving in a way that will endanger lives, witnesses said.
But the officers defied the warning and a fight ensued.
The governor, who was infuriated, condemned the action of the policemen and thereafter ordered that they should be arrested.
When Bounce News put a call to Lagos police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, for confirmation of the story, he did not answer his phone.
