The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on Saturday went around for an on-the-spot assessment to the troubled areas of Gbajimba, headquarters of Guma local government area of Benue state.

This was part of his effort to ensure peace and stability in the state.

He assured the communities and the IDPs of their determination and commitment to the protection of their lives and property.

The visit comes about 48 hours after the mass burial given to the victims of the herdsmen attack on New Year day.
