PHOTOS: Igbo Traders In Lagos Defy Sit-At-Home Order, Say Lagos Is Another Country
While the South-East is on lock-down because of the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Igbo traders in Lagos, South-West Nigeria are going about their normal businesses.
Bounce News monitored activities in the Ladipo auto-spare parts market in Lagos dominated by Igbos and found business to be in full swing. Shops were open as the market remained busy as ever.
A trader who spoke to Bounce News, James Nwaneri said: “The sit-at-home order is in the South-East. This place belongs to Nigeria. People are going about their normal business because here is in another country.
"And as far as you are here, you have no right to violate the laws that govern here. As we are in Lagos, we obey their laws because this is another country.”
